This is the first piece in my "Violin & Cloth" drawing series.
As I violinist, I've always wanted to get around to incorporating the violin's elegant form into a piece of work. I'm happy I have now!
In this case, I combined the violin with the element of cloth. Wooden instruments and cloth have a long history together and I wanted to comment on this. Cloth has always been used to store, clean and protect wooden instruments and they complement each other well visually on the page. The cloth helps to add movement and flow next to the violin's very stoic and solid form. With this in mind, I created the illusion of deep space as a reference to this long, shared history.
Overall, this was a fun piece!
